Three options are available for BHS students to earn college credit and it is important to note that these credit opportunities are not the same.
- Advanced Placement is available through the College Board and requires a third-party assessment, a score of 3 or above for guaranteed University System of Ohio-USO credit upon enrollment in a USO institution. Other institutions (private and out of state) determine if they will offer credit and what assessment scores are required.
- Articulated Credit is available through the College Tech Prep Programs at BHS and Ohio Hi-Point Career Center. Articulated credit is not recognized on a student’s college transcript until that student subsequently enrolls in a college that is authorized to confer the particular credit. For example, if Rhodes State is used for the articulation with the high school, then the student can only earn that credit if they enroll at Rhodes State after high school graduation.
- Transcripted Credit is available through the College Credit Plus program (formerly called Postsecondary Enrollment Options-PSEO and Dual Enrollment). Transcripted Credit is recognized on the student’s college transcript upon successful completion of the college course. The high school student is enrolled at the college at the time the student is taking the college course. See the following links for more information on College Credit Plus.

It is recommended that students wait until a month after their last term taking CCP courses before requesting a transcript. For seniors taking Spring Semester CCP courses, they should wait until the first of July to request their transcript. Below are links to Clark State Community College and Urbana University's transcript request web page.
Until then, Seniors can use the BHS CCP Course Descriptions (link below) to share with colleges to determine what will transfer and to handle course placement.
